Meet Erin Lake

By Jennifer Furgerson

Meet Investigator Erin Lake

(Tumalo Falls, Bend Oregon)

How long have you been interested in the paranormal?

I’ve been interested in the paranormal since about 2006. My grandma had just passed and it was the year that I first had any experience with the paranormal.

Have you had any personal experiences? How many? Which is your most memorable? Why?
I have had some personal experiences. Such as hearing someone talking who isn’t there, dreams, objects moving on their own, hearing someone saying my name while being the only one home or awake, and hearing footsteps. So far, my most memorable experience has been a dream that I had. I was walking with my grandmother, who had passed away, and she was talking to me about something that I was going through at the time. But before she started to walk away in the dream, she turned to me and told me to tell my mom that she liked the new lights that she had put in the new house. When I woke up, I told my mom about the dream and about the lights. My mom stopped what she was doing and just looked at me, then told me that she had just bought some new lights for the new house that we were building. No one except for my dad had even seen them yet to know what they looked like.

What made you seek out a paranormal Investigation team?

I have always talked about how I would like to join a paranormal investigation team since my first paranormal experience, but I never actually sought it out. It wasn’t until my sister forwarded the 'A.L.P.S. craigslist ad for a new team member' to me that I even thought about actually being a part of a team. I didn’t hesitate to reply to the ad immediately after reading it.

How long have you been with ALPS?
About 4 months

How do you think an investigator should behave and work?

I think an investigator should behave professionally during an investigation. A paranormal investigation team is there to help people and to do that, the team should carry themselves professionally and confidently to do the best job possible to give the client the peace of mind they need.

When not investigating, what do you do in the off time? Work? Other hobbies?

In my off time, I spend a lot of time with my family and my dog Motley. Motley is my little sidekick. I enjoy doing just about any outdoor activity, like camping, hiking and anything water related. In the summer you can find me at my favorite lake or river on just about any given day.

If you could investigate anywhere in the world, where would you go?

If I could investigate anywhere in the world it would be Dracula’s Castle. I’ve always wanted to go there, and to investigate there would be awesome!

What are your long term goals being part of the ALPS team? Short term?

I would say that my main goal being part of ALPS, besides helping people with their paranormal experiences, is to build long lasting friendships with the members of the ALPS team.
